Usage: The kit is used with a manometer to test injectors for leaks that cause slow shutdown or excessive run-on after key-off.

Test Procedure:

• Leak Detection: Checks for combustion gas leaks through the injector rail check valve or other conditions allowing gas leakage into the fuel rail.
• Backpressure Creation: When the engine is barred over, the piston on the compression stroke creates backpressure against the injector.
• Pressure Measurement: If the rail check valve leaks, the air is pushed into the fuel rail. Pressure is sensed at the test fixture, replacing the metering actuator. A manometer connected to the test fixture measures pressure as air escapes through the leaking valve. Alternatively, using a container of water will show bubbles as air escapes.

Cylinder Identification:

• The overhead set marks on the damper identify which cylinder is on the compression stroke, helping to pinpoint the malfunctioning injector if a change in manometer pressure or bubbles is observed.
